Ecuador Quito 04-07 Mitad Del Mundo Reserva Geobotanica Pululahua  [29 of 34]

We drove for about five minutes to the lookout of an extinct volcano called Reserva Geobotánica Pululahua, declared a National Park in 1969 becoming the first in Ecuador and the continent. The volcano has been extinct for about 2500 years, so the bottom of the crater is grown over nicely. The two domes in the distance are not the other side of the crater but actually the domes from the most recent eruption. The domes are in the middle of the crater.
